English is now essential and used every day. Lots of Italians still think that learing English is too difficult for them. We’d like to encourage them to feel confident with English, and show them that understanding and communicating in Shakespeare’s language is within everyone’s reach.

We decided to show this proximity, by taking three Italian cities and London’s most popular monuments. The claim “L’inglese è di casa” could be translated as “the ability of speaking English is as easy to learn, as reaching someone you share your home with, a relative” and therefore, convey the idea of feeling confident with it. This typical Italian expression emphasizes how close and interconnected the two languages and cultures are, nowadays. The aim of this campaign is to prove that thanks to the British Council, Italian people can feel more confident with the English language, as if they were at home or close to it.
